Draconian Law

Draconian Law is defined as a law that is exceedingly harsh.

It’s actually named after a real person.  Draco was a politician in ancient Athens, and the laws that he instituted were unpopular for their severity.

I wonder though if the term is still popular today because of the general contribution of greek culture to the world, or because he had such a cool name.

I think it’s the name.
