Right To Bear Arms

Looks like Coco is going for bear arms, perhaps in order to grapple?

In 3e/3.5e grappling was a great way to handle casters since it rendered them almost helpless unless they prepared non-somatic spells (or had a freedom of movement cast on them).

In fact, by mid-teens, most people that I knew that played casters had a tendency to either have FoM up all day (through pearls of power/rods of extension or ring) or specifically prepare several stilled/non-somatic spells or silent teleports to get out of grapples.

I recall an instance where our party of 3rd and 4th level newbs were able to stop a 12th level wizard through high initiative, a grappling monk, and a silence spell from the cleric. The adventure called for him to be able to teleport away. The game ended early as a result.

Coco, as usual, hasn’t thought things through. First of all, grappling is unlikely to be effective against a genie which can probably turn to mist. Second of all, the genie is trying to pull a fast one by charging payment for the wish, which is presumably the quid pro quo for the service already rendered – releasing the genie from the bottle…er, lamp…er, Pandora’s box (which is actually a mistranslation of the original Greek “jar” similar to how Cinderella’s fur slipper got mistranslated into glass).

What? You expect a guy with a horn and black flames for hair to play fair? :)
