Familiar Ground

Apparently there is an upward trend in catalytic converters being stolen from cars.  It contains a significant amount of platinum (or other rare metals) which makes it attractive to thieves in the current metal market.  As a bonus to thieves, it  is fairly easy to steal and can be done in less than two minutes.

The real world sucks sometimes.

But it’s a neat idea for an adventure.

Imagine a series of murders occurring in town, with all the victims being warforged.  Apparently, someone has taken to breaking them down for parts.  Mithril or Adamantine laced warforged are especially prone to being targeted.
