Am I a cynic for thinking that if the end of the world was near (say a meteor is discovered headed for earth), that governments would still argue about all sorts of things that aren’t relevant to saving the earth and get in each other’s way?

Heck, you couldn’t even get all governments to even acknowledge there was a threat — a bunch would accuse the others of fabricating the whole scare.
I personally am a cyric about such things … …
Global Warming anyone? Lots of countries still debate its existence. The ones that accept it still debate whether or not it’s worth worrying about…
